Social Trip Description

National Craft Complex
Kompleks Budaya KrafKompleks Budaya Kraf is located at Jalan Conlay. A popular handicraft complex, it is a one-stop location to explore Malaysian culture and crafts as well as to buy and even try your hand at making some items.
KL Tower
KL TowerMenara KL (more affectionately known as KL Tower) is one of the city’s pride and joy. Built in 1995, KL Tower is used for communication purposes and stands tall at 421 meters high. The structure itself is 335 meters tall and the extra height comes from an antenna which currently makes it the fifth tallest tower in the world. This tower has since been a symbol of Kuala Lumpur and its picture is widely used in many publications to promote tourism in Kuala Lumpur.
National Monument
National MonumentTugu Negara, literally the "National Monument" in Malay, is a sculpture that commemorates those who died in Malaysia's struggle for freedom, principally against the Japanese occupation during World War II and the Malayan Emergency , which lasted from 1948 until 1960. It is located in the Federal capital, Kuala Lumpur. The Malaysian Houses of Parliament is situated near the monument. The monument depicts a group of soldiers holding the Malaysian national flag, the Jalur Gemilang, aloft. Each of the bronze figures symbolizes leadership, suffering, unity, vigilance, strength, courage and sacrifice.
Central Market
Central MarketSituated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur , Central Market is an entertainment and recreational hub for local citizens and foreigners. Though somewhat commercialized by the rapid developments around it, one can still find much of our Malaysian culture retained in the arts and crafts sold there. Reflecting the typical busy streets in city life, it stands in a remarkable position amongst other modern city skyscrapers. Central Market is kept for its historical value; it was built by the British in 1900 and back then its primary purpose was to serve as a wet market. Currently, it still retains the nostalgic feel of Malaysian history during the pre-independence era. As a matter of fact, the building was honoured with Coronation Architecture Design Award in 1953.
Istana Negara
Istana NegaraIstana Negara or National Palace is the official residence of His Majesty, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia. It stands on a 28 acre (110,000 m²) site, located at a commanding position on the slope of a hill of Bukit Petaling overlooking the Klang River, along Jalan Syed Putra. The Istana was originally a double storey mansion built in 1928 by a local Chinese millionaire, Chan Wing.

It was built in 1928 and was originally the residence of a millionaire, Mr. Chan Wing. During the Japanese Occupation from 1942-1945, it was used as the Japanese Officers’ mess. After the surrender of the Japanese, the building was bought by the Selangor State Government and after being renovated, it became the palace of His Majesty the Sultan of Selangor until 1957.

KLCC Skybridge
KLCC Skybridge The Skybridge, a major attraction at the PETRONAS Twin Towers, symbolises a gateway to the future and is used to facilitate movement between the two towers. It can also function as an escape route in case of emergencies. The Skybridge is supported by a "three-hinged arch" consisting of giant round bearings at the base and a pair of legs 51 metres in length. The base of the arch is located at level 29 of each tower. The cylindrical legs are bolted to a box girder below the centre of the double-decked bridge.
